Sending a big hug   it really is such a rollercoaster.   Just when we think we've got the hang of it, another emotion hits us in the face.  It takes time, and it seems ever so slow, we're here if you want to talk about it xx

I keep meaning to put some sunglasses in my handbag Beth as I never know when I'm going to come out of somewhere with swollen red eyes X

Yes Beth... you will still get moments when you become upset, and you fill up with tears,  it's natural.  I had such a moment last night when one lady at the social group I was talking to asked what had happened to my wife, and it's hard to explain as it starts you off again, and for a few seconds I could sense my eyes were getting a little tearful.   I've not been discussing it much during my 2 meeting with this group of people for that very reason.

However... I am trying,  but it will never go away, it just becomes more bearable with the passing of time.

You take care.

Best wishes.... Brian

It's horrible the way grief suddenly ambushes us. If only we could have a bit of warning to prepare ourselves and get out of the way it would save a lot of embarrassment among company.

We could go to the loo and reappear ten minutes later, in sunglasses, and nobody would be any the wiser.

Sometimes it can be very hard indeed Beth,  I've just had a good tearful session myself.   Somehow we have to try and work through it, and hope tomorrow is better.

When I'm crying I always try and remind myself that if they weren't flowing out then they will back up and explode out in some other way- I think the more that people can cry in the early days the easier it will be to 'recover' as far as we can.

In a strange way I often find it a relief to cry. It's horrible when your doing it but there seems to be a release in it that calms me down afterwards. abut like a pressure cooker letting off steam.

Hope today was better for you.

I'm pleased to hear that Beth. Sounds like you need a few better days to recharge your batteries
