I finished work in early March to join my husband in retirement and spend more time with him. Sadly I lost him to a sudden and unexpected heart attack on 1 April. Everyone is telling me how well I am coping, but I almost feel guilty that I am seemingly coping so well.

Welcome Jools105 and my condolences on your loss. I'm sure that the ways that we react to bereavement are virtually infinite and I'm also sure that at one time or another we all experience similar reactions and emotions. I've learned over the last few months to expect the unexpected when it comes to my emotions but to always remember that tomorrow is another day. It's a good place to come here when you need to 'unload'

Hi Jools,
I agree with EMZ - whatever you are feeling is what you are supposed to feel and that goes for any emotion any of us are in. We are all individuals who process at our own rate. Whatever kind of day you are having, this is a great place to come. Special group of people.
